The start of the NBA season is coming up quickly, which means Jabari Smith Jr. and Walker Kessler are ready for their second season in the NBA.

If you look at FanDuel Sportsbooks odds for the NBA Most Improved Player award, you will see Smith and Kessler listed with top 20 odds to win the award.

Kessler's odds to win the award are +3000, while Smith's are +3500.

If I had to pick one of these two former Tigers to win the award, it would be Smith.

His ceiling is through the roof, and at the NBA Summer League, he looked like a guy who will be an All-Star sometime soon.

Kessler has a good shot at averaging a double-double this season and could lead the NBA in blocks per game. They call him Blocker Kessler in Utah for a reason.

There is a legitimate chance that Smith or Kessler will win this award thanks to the sophomore campaigns they are about to put together.

During the 2023-24 NBA season, Smith and Kessler will blossom into two of the young stars in the league.

The NBA season begins on October 24th. Smith and Kessler will start their seasons the following day on the 25th.
