Former Auburn Tiger Yohan Traore is off to a hot start for UC Santa Barbara

Yohan Traore is off to a hot start at his new school.

After a frustrating freshman season on the Plains, former five-star big man Yohan Traore decided to transfer away from Auburn.

After being in the portal, Traore decided to head out west to play for UC Santa Barbara.

Six games into his season playing for the Gauchos, Traore is averaging 15.2 points per game and 4.2 rebounds.

His season high came against UTEP, where the six-foot-eleven sophomore scored 23 points in UC Santa Barbara's 89-76 loss to the Miners.

Traore has been extremely efficient from the field for the Gauchos, shooting 67.3%, which is good for 15th best in all of college hoops.

There was a ton of hype around Traore, but he didn't have a huge role during his time on the Plains. It will be interesting to see if he has a few good seasons for UC Santa Barbara if he tries to find a home back in Power-Six hoops.
