Auburn football receives 'C-' midseason grade
It's been a pretty average start on the field for Hugh Freeze.
The Auburn Tigers (3-3, 0-3 SEC) have reached the midseason mark with a .500 record despite having one of the worst offenses in the SEC. The Tigers have really struggled to get things going on that side of the ball and it's been almost painful to watch at times.
The recruiting has been excellent, but the product on the field has not.
Brad Crawford of 247Sports recently gave his midseason grades for all SEC teams, giving the Tigers a C minus grade.
Here's what Crawford had to say about the season thus far:
"This Auburn offense in Hugh Freeze's first season in stuck in neutral, not a good sign when there's two games left against top 20 teams in SEC play. However, from watching this team play, you get a sense the wins are coming since the second half of the schedule is more favorable than what the Tigers have endured up to this point. Perhaps that starts in Week 8 against Ole Miss at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Ole Miss hasn't beaten Auburn in consecutive years since 1952."
