The season is halfway over and Auburn is finally starting to recover.

After a less-than-ideal showing against LSU, multiple players who have missed time could return to the lineup for a pivotal matchup against the No. 13 Ole Miss Rebels.

Who are the players Auburn will or could potentially be without?

Damari Alston

Alston, a sophomore running back, has been missing time since suffering a shoulder injury in Auburn's loss to Texas A&M.

So far this season he has rushed for 131 yards and one touchdown off of 26 carries.

“It does not look good for Damari (Alston)," head coach Hugh Freeze said about the running back returning this week.

Austin Keys

Keys, a junior linebacker who transferred to Auburn from Ole Miss this offseason, has only played in the UMass game so far this season. He suffered a hand injury during practice ahead of the Cal game.

"Austin Keys, I know he got out of his cast," Freeze said. "I do not think he will be back this week but is getting closer.”

He logged two tackles in that game and was a difference-maker in the pass rush.

Keionte Scott

Scott, a cornerback who played JUCO ball before joining the Tigers, suffered a leg injury during Auburn's win over Samford.

"Hopefully he will get better," Freeze said. "Hopefully, we will get good news on Keionte (Scott) sometime soon. He makes a huge difference in our leadership."

Scott has logged 10 tackles and a quarterback hurry this season and is the primary punt returner for the Tigers.

According to multiple reports, Scott was dressed out and participating in practice on Tuesday. Whether or not he will be ready to go on Saturday is still up in the air, but his return to practice is promising.

Jaylin Simpson

Simpson, a senior defensive back who has been a difference-maker for Auburn this season, suffered a calf injury against Georgia. He is currently day-to-day but was able to play against LSU.

"(Jaylin) Simpson was not 100 percent Saturday night, for sure," Freeze said.

Simpson has recorded four interceptions, recovered one fumble and made 19 tackles as well as one tackle for loss.
