Auburn Football Loses Backup DL to the Transfer Portal
Auburn football has lost another backup defensive lineman to the transfer portal.
Stephen Johnson, a freshman d-lineman from Fayetteville, Georgia, has entered the transfer portal, per his social media.
"Thank you Auburn for the opportunity," Johnson wrote in his post. "Much love and appreciation for the experience! Auburn will always have a special place in my heart. I’ll be entering the transfer portal with 4 years of eligibility! God got a plan for me."
Johnson was a three-star prospect, the No. 115 defensive lineman and the No. 96 player in the state of Georgia coming out of high school. He will have four years of eligibility remaining. Johnson did not record a stat at Auburn.
Auburn DL Enyce Sledge will enter his name in the transfer portal
Notable offers Johnson received coming out of high school include Arkansas, Maryland, Georgia Southern, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky and Liberty.
The Tigers lost backup defensive tackle Enyce Sledge to the portal yesterday.
