The Baylor Bears have had a rough offseason already in terms of losses to the NCAA Transfer Portal.

But on Monday afternoon, they lost another, with sophomore cornerback Lorando Johnson announcing his intentions to leave the Baylor program.

"Farewell Baylor, This is hard to do, but I am announcing that I will be entering the transfer portal," Johnson tweeted. "Thank you, Coach Aranda, the entire staff, and the Baylor Family."

Johnson spent two seasons in Waco, coming in as part of the 2020 class alongside Tay McWilliams, James Sylvester, Drake Dabney, Blake Shapen, Micah Mazzccua, Devin Neal, and Dillon Doyle (transfer) among others.

Johnson is now the eighth player to enter the portal since October for the Bears, as well as the fourth defensive back, alongside Alfahiym Walcott, Mike Harris, and the aforementioned Neal.

Four offensive players have also entered the portal for Baylor, in Seth Jones, Kyron Drones, Mazzccua, and Josh Fleeks.

In his time in Waco, Johnson had 20 total tackles, five passes defended, and one forced fumble in two seasons. He played in nine games in 2022.

Fortunately for the Bears, reinforcements are on the way, with five defensive backs heading to Waco via the 2023 signing class
