The Baylor Bears were already set to begin the 2022-23 college basketball season with an elite arsenal of backcourt talent.

Now, they're adding another major piece back to the puzzle.

Per Baylor coach Scott Drew, junior guard LJ Cryer has been cleared for all basketball-related activities after missing most of last season and the NCAA Tournament with a foot injury.

Cryer had surgery on his right foot the summer after his freshman season, but the ailment continued to be a bother last year, forcing him to miss time.

But when he was on the court, Cryer was arguably Baylor's best player. Though only playing in 19 games last season, he averaged 13.5 points, which would have been tied with former Bear James Akinjo for second on the team on a season-long basis.

He was also incredibly efficient from 3-point range, knocking down 52 of 111 attempts and leading the team in three-point percentage (46.8). Despite Cryer appearing in limited action, the total makes were also second on the team.

Cryer will now rejoin a backcourt that includes 2021 leading-scorer Adam Flagler, dynamic freshman Keyonte George, and talented guard Langston Love, who missed all of his freshman year with an ACL tear.

The Bears will tip off the 2022-23 season at home on Monday, Nov. 7 against Mississippi Valley State.
