Look: Cincinnati Just Outside The 2024 NCAA Tournament Field in The Athletic, ESPN Bracketology
CINCINNATI — Life on the bubble returned for Cincinnati after a 2-4 start in Big 12 play. The latest bracketology from The Athletic and ESPN both have Cincinnati as one of the first four teams left out of the 2024 NCAA tournament field.
"Texas moves back into the field and onto the No. 9 line after a pair of Quad 1 wins over Baylor and at Oklahoma, while Cincinnati, which has dropped two straight and four of its past five, falls out," Brian Bennett wrote for The Athletic.
The Big 12 is still getting a whopping 10 projected teams into the dance, but Cincinnati got booted out on this go around.
The matchup against UCF is a huge game for Cincinnati. TeamRankings currently gives them a 51% chance to make the NCAA Tournament. They likely need to win this game and the road matchup against West Virginia to get a firm return back to the projected field.
ESPN gives them a 77.6% chance to beat UCF and a 77% chance to beat WVU.
