Look: UC Receives More Votes in AP Top 25 Poll, Top-15 in Opening NET Ranking
CINCINNATI — Cincinnati hoops is nearly back in the AP Top 25 Poll for the first time in years after a 7-0 start to the season and a dominant 99-62 win over Florida Gulf Coast.
The Bearcats received 21 votes this week, good for the 34th best ranking in the country.
They also checked in at No. 14 in the NCAA's first NET ranking of the season.
It adds more intrigue to a game that speaks for itself this Saturday. Cincinnati is trying to knock off Xavier on the road for the first time since 2001.
UC's faced KenPom's 311th-ranked strength of schedule thus far, but has handled it about as easily as possible, ranking eighth nationally in scoring margin (Plus-22.3 points per game).
The Big 12 boasts eight of the top-10 teams in that metric as the Bearcats get ready to face the nation's toughest conference gauntlet starting in the first week of 2024.
