CINCINNATI — There hasn't been any noticeable movement for UC forward Jamille Reynolds and his pursuit for a second-time transfer waiver from the NCAA recently and a group of state's attorney generals are banding together to help him and other athletes get into games.

Ohio AG Dave Yost announced a seven-state lawsuit against the NCAA "to challenge Bylaw 14.5.5.1 (“Transfer Eligibility Rule”) of Defendant, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (“NCAA”). This bylaw imposes a one- year delay in the eligibility of certain college athletes transferring between NCAA member institutions and unjustifiably restrains the ability of these college athletes to engage in the market for their labor as NCAA Division I college athletes. This action seeks declaratory and injunctive relief against Defendant for a violation of Section 1 of the Sherman Act."

UPDATE: Yost announced a temporary restraining order hearing in the case is scheduled for this Wednesday, meaning Reynolds could be on the floor for Cincinnati's final big non-conference matchup of the season against Dayton.

Cleveland.com first reported the original story.

Yost is looking for a ruling on this notice in the coming weeks as Cincinnati tries to get its full stable of big men on the floor for Big 12 play starting on Jan. 6.

Ohio, Colorado, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia are all involved in the lawsuit.

Now, the waiting game continues for Reynolds and Cincinnati as the highest levels of the state fight for his right to play.
