Weekly NET: 2-4 Big 12 Start Has Cincinnati Firmly on NCAA Tournament Bubble
CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Bearcats are back on the NCAA tournament bubble after a 2-4 start in conference play that's included four losses by a combined 12 points.
The close defeats have dropped UC down to No. 38 in the NET rankings, which is their second-lowest rating since the first ranking released this season.
It's made them one of the Last Four In teams across ESPN's latest Bracketology as a 12 seed and left them with a 52% chance of making the 2024 NCAA Tournament on TeamRankings. Cincinnati can likely still make the dance with a 6-6 or 7-5 finish in the conference.
Anything less will make it very hard to break the tourney drought.
6-6 is exactly how TeamRankings projects them to wrap up (19-13 overall). Pairing wins against UCF and West Virginia together over the next week would be a great first step towards a .500 finish or better.
