UC Defensive Assistant Greg Gasparato Leaving Cincinnati For Defensive Coordinator Position
CINCINNATI — UC is losing a pair of assistant football coaches to bigger jobs.
On3's Matt Zenitz reported on Monday outside linebackers coach Greg Gasparato is on the way out for a new role. He joins Tom Manning and Derek Nicholson as new UC assistants who've earned higher-profile jobs elsewhere.
Manning is becoming the Indianapolis Colts' new tight ends coach, while Gasparato is taking the defensive coordinator job at Troy. Gasparato coached linebackers for Satterfield at Louisville last season and safeties in 2021.
Both were hired by Scott Satterfield in the past few months to join him at UC. Their quick exits are a good sign of his acumen for fulfilling top priority in a head coach position: hiring great assistants.
Expect UC to move quickly like it did last week replacing inside linebackers coach.
