UC Emerges as a Major Winner From the 2022 NFL Draft

The Bearcats set multiple records over the draft weekend.

CINCINNATI — With the dust settled on the 2022 NFL draft, Cincinnati emerged as one of the biggest winners from the event among any program in the country.

The Bearcats finished third among all schools, with nine players drafted. Georgia (15) finished well ahead of the pack with their National Championship crew, and the LSU Tigers (10) continued showing that Louisiana is a hotbed for NFL talent.

The Bearcats set program records for draft selections and also set the AAC record for most draft picks from one program in a single draft. All in all, it was the most impactful weekend in the history of the team.

That might sound a little hyperbolic, but it can't be underestimated how important that statistic is for recruiting and prowess heading into the Big 12. Cincinnati should still have multiple draft picks again next year, but 2022 was a springboard for the program to keep this reload firing on all cylinders.
