CINCINNATI — The Bearcats lost to the Musketeers 84-79 on Saturday night to fall to 7-1 on the season. They haven't beat Xavier at the Cintas Center since 2001.

Here are our winners and losers from the game:

Winners

Jizzle James

The freshman kept Cincinnati in the game, scoring 14 points in the first half. He finished with 19 points and continues to show that he can be a big piece of the Bearcats program moving forward.

Aziz Bandaogo

Bandaogo wrecked havoc for most of his 26 minutes on the court. He finished with three points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. The Bearcats outscored the Musketeers by 12 with Bandaogo in the game.

John Newman III

Newman's performance in the second half helped the Bearcats rally from a 12-point deficit. He finished with 18 points, eight rebounds and two assists.

Losers

Dan Skillings Jr.

Skillings shot 1-for-7, finishing with just two points. He was 0-for-2 from beyond-the-arc, including an awful attempt late in the game with plenty of time on the shot clock when the Bearcats had momentum. He also let at least 10 seconds come of the clock before fouling with less than one minute remaining. Either play defense or foul—don't do both. He wasted time and then put Xavier at the free throw line.

CJ Fredrick

The Cincinnati native finished 0-for-4 from the field and didn't make an impact. The Bearcats desperately needed someone to make a few outside shots. Fredrick is their best shooter, but he struggled on Saturday night.
