CINCINNATI — Time for another check-in on the football recruiting trail starting with Cincinnati re-offering 2024 four-star running back Tovani Mizell out of Dematha Catholic (Maryland).

According to 247Sports, Mizell is the 214th-ranked player nationally and the 15th-ranked running back. ESPN has him ranked 101st overall and sixth among running backs. He committed to Georgia in August of last year.

Mizell is arguably the most talented UC running back recruit I've ever watched. He is as fast as anyone in this class (confirmed 4.3 speed) and has fantastic movement in and out of rushing lanes. Mizell gets every yard available to him at 6-foot, 195-pounds.

The spin move is his signature attribute. He pairs that with dynamic speed and an in-play motor you can't mold. It was surprising when one tackler was able to bring him down.

Alas, it's unlikely he flips from the back-to-back national champs.

After that, we have an offer for 2024 three-star edge rusher Jeremiah Marcellin out of Norland (Florida).

According to 247Sports, Marcellin is the 457th-ranked player nationally and the 30th-ranked edge rusher. He holds eight offers from schools like Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Florida State.

Marcellin roughed up opposing offense this past season with 82 tackles (27 for loss), 14.5 sacks, and 1 forced fumble in 11 games.

Blitz baller, that's a good way to describe the 6-foot-2, 220-pound punisher. Marcellin is an elite run-and-pass blitzer, evidenced by that TFL number. He most operates at middle linebacker with a little outside mixed in.

The timing he shows on blitzes is hard to teach. Pass coverage may be a work in progress, but Marcellin is a sound tackler who takes great angles in the open field.

The next offer went out to 2024 three-star Bergen Catholic (New Jersey) offensive lineman Nyier Daniels.

According to 247Sports, Daniels is the 58th-ranked offensive tackle nationally and the 4th-ranked player in New Jersey. He holds nine offers from schools like Michigan, Florida, and Miami (FL).

Cincinnati also re-offered three-star Carrollwood Day (Florida) edge rusher, Solomon Williams.

Williams was not ranked when UC offered during their bye week in October. Now, he is a high composite three-star recruit, sitting 382nd nationally and 24th among edge rushers.

He's added six more offers since the first contact and now holds 18 from schools like Florida State and Illinois. Scott Satterfield's old Louisville staff offered Williams as well.

The junior popped on nearly every play this past season. He can dip into a nice power supply at 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, but often uses a nasty swim move to create penetration. His mix of moves, a heady bull rush, and a strong awareness for downfield tackling angles make him another intriguing target in the 2024 class.

We close with an offer to four-star running back Micah Welch out of Baldwin (Georgia).

According to Rivals, Welch is the 151st-ranked prospect nationally and the 15th-ranked running back. He holds nine offers and was previously offered by Satterfield at Louisville.

Welch is a home-run threat every time he touches the football. The acceleration out of shotgun runs is palpable, and his movement in the open field turns 10-yard runs into 75-yard touchdowns. The 5-foot-9, 195-pound talent is a great fit for Satterfield's zone rushing scheme due to his quickness and versatility.

Welch can catch the ball adequately from the backfield and does not waste holes when they open. It's cut and dry with Welch: get the ball and get to the endzone.
