Recruiting Roundup: Four-Star Offensive Lineman William Satterwhite Visiting UC
CINCINNATI — The UC football staff sent out some offers and set up more visits over Spring Break.
We start with a visit from 2024 four-star offensive lineman William Satterwhite out of Archbishop Hoban (Ohio) scheduled for next Friday.
According to 247Sports, Satterwhite is the 212th-ranked player in the country and the 12-ranked interior offensive lineman.
He has 28 offers from schools like Alabama and Colorado.
The offer train starts with three-star 2025 quarterback Carter Smith out of Bishop Verot (Florida).
Rivals has him rated as a three-star recruit with 11 offers from schools like UCF, and Ole Miss.
Smith had some nice film for a sophomore. His looping deep ball flicks off his hand nicely, and he's well adept at angling his body to torque throws on the move.
That's probably his biggest strength as Smith does a great job maneuvering to open spaces in muddy pockets and isn't afraid to take a hit for his receiver to get extra time. He has a bit of wiggle as a runner and high-level top gear in the open field.
At 6-foot-3, 175 pounds, Smith should stack more weight onto that ideal frame over the next few years.
Next is an offer for three-star 2024 wide receiver Isiah Canion out of Warner Robins (Georgia).
According to 247Sports, Canion is the 420th-ranked player nationally and the 61st-ranked wide receiver.
He holds eight offers from schools like Indiana and Notre Dame.
It was hard to see Canion's route tree depth in his film, but the speed and hands are there. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound talent flashed a nasty fifth gear on deep balls.
He's also a very capable blocker with nice X-receiver upside at the next level.
We stick in the receiving room with an offer to three-star 2024 wide receiver Ernest Campbell out of Refugio (Texas).
According to 247Sports, Campbell is the 454th-ranked player overall and the 66th-ranked receiver.
He holds 20 offers from schools like Boston College and Colorado.
Campbell's highlights remind me a lot of Tre Tucker. The 5-foot-8, 150-pound jitterbug gets lined up all over the formation and touches the ball in a variety of ways.
Refugio gives him pitches at running back, bubble screens, plus, reps in the slot and outside. He's a do-it-all sprinting fiend that won a 2021 100-meter dash state title in Texas. Campbell is a threat to house any ball he touches.
Another interesting offer went out to unranked 2024 St. Joseph's Prep School (Pennsylvania) receiver Elijah Jones.
His quarterback, Samaj, is one of UC's top passing targets in the 2024 class and this could be a way to sweeten the recruiting process. Cincinnati offered Samaj in December.
