Recruiting Roundup: UC Football Offers Four-Star Teammates
CINCINNATI — It may be a bye week for the players but UC's football staff is still hard at work on the recruiting grind. Three more notable offers went out this week starting with four-star defensive lineman Xavier Porter out of Tampa Catholic (Florida).
According to 247Sports Composite, Porter is the 244th-ranked player nationally and the 24th-ranked defensive lineman. On3 Consensus has him as the 260th-ranked player nationally and the 23rd-best defensive lineman.
The site also has Florida State (68.7%) and UCF (21.3%) as the favorites to land him among his nine offers.
Porter has a solid baseline of skills to work with at 6-foot-2, 265 pounds. His biggest strength is a solid first step with inside penetrating moves.
Next on the offer list is Porter's teammate and fellow four-star defensive lineman/offensive lineman Eddy Pierre-Louis.
According to 247Sports Composite, He is the 139th-ranked player nationally and is the 13th-best defensive lineman. On3 slots him as the 114th-best player in 2024 and the sixth-best interior offensive lineman. He holds 41 offers, with Florida (38.7%) and UCF (22.2%) the two biggest favorites to sign him.
I wouldn't be shocked to see Piere-Louis finish as a top-100 player in this cycle. The junior is a road grading guard at 6-foot-4, 320 pounds. He moves very well at that size and punishes smaller defenders in the open field.
The trio of notable offers rounds out with 2024 Carrollwood Day (Florida) edge rusher Solomon Williams.
Williams is not ranked but is expected to jump into the fray on 247Sports's next update. He holds 12 offers from schools like Louisville, Florida State, and Illinois. All three of those coming in the past month as he impresses in the Florida high school ranks.
The junior is popping on nearly every play this season. He can dip into a nice power supply at 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, but often uses a nasty swim move to create penetration. His mix of moves, a heady bull rush, and strong awareness for downfield tackling angles make him another intriguing target in the 2024 class.
