Recruiting Roundup: UC Offers Four-Star WR Jerrae Hawkins, Two More Recruits Following Homecoming Visits
CINCINNATI — The UC football team offered a few scholarships to recruits visiting for the homecoming matchup against South Florida, but one stood out above the rest.
Four-star 2024 wide receiver Jerrae Hawkins out of Wheeling Park (West Virginia) is fully on the Bearcats' radar.
According to 247Sports Composite, he is the 239th-ranked player nationally and the 34th-ranked wide receiver. ESPN has him ranked 223rd nationally and 28th among receivers. He holds seven offers from schools like Pitt, Penn State, and Virginia Tech.
Hawkins reminds me a lot of Tre Tucker at 5-foot-9, 160 pounds. they have nearly identical builds and loads of speed. The angles Hawkins can take to open space are mind-blowing. He's a good route runner as a junior and has elite ability on lateral-designed plays to get upfield for damage.
The speed is eye-popping on tape, and Hawkins has a walking example in Tucker for the UC staff to point to when they describe how he can be used.

A pair of other offers went out to 2025 recruits in Milton (Georgia) tight end Ryan Ghea, and Anderson (Ohio) tight end Caden Piening.
Neither recruit is ranked in the 2025 class but they do hold multiple offers.
Ghea has nine offers from schools like Georgia Tech, Indiana, and Ohio State. Piening has eight offers as well from schools like Pitt, Indiana, and UConn.
