Breaking: 5-star receiver Mike Matthews commits to Tennesee over Clemson
Clemson will have to look elsewhere for their next top recruit as 5-star Mike Matthews committed to ---- on Wednesday. The 6-foot-1 prospect out of Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia made the announcement in a broadcast on On3.com.
Player Profile: A two-way star, Mike Matthews could easily star at safety in the Power 5. At 6-foot-1, he has great length and speed, as he constantly separates from defenders and tracks down opponents. He can play inside or outside as a wideout and is a homerun threat every time he touches the ball.
What it means for Clemson: The Tigers already have two top wideouts in their class, 5-star Bryant Wesco and 4-star TJ Moore. They obviously would've loved to team them up with Matthews but such is big-time recruiting.
