In this story:

After a two-year hiatus, Clemson is looking to return to the College Football Playoff. The Tigers will be breaking in a new offense under coordinator Garrett Riley. Plenty of newcomers will have to step up but a host of talented veterans, including linebackers Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Barrett Carter, give the Tigers a solid core to lean on.

Clemson faces a tough schedule with Notre Dame and Florida State both visiting Memorial Stadium. They'll also face a new challenge: no divisions in the ACC. Instead of trying to win just their side of the conference to make it to the ACC title game, the Tigers will have to have one of the two best records in conference play.

BetMGM just released their updated National Championship odds and they believe the Tigers have a good shot at the title in 2023. The online sportsbook has the Tigers at +1800 to win the national championship this season.

  • Georgia +220
  • Alabama +600
  • Ohio State +700
  • Michigan +900
  • LSU +1200
  • USC +1400
  • Florida State +1800
  • Clemson +1800
  • Texas +2200
  • Penn State +2500

The odds also tell us just how crucial the Clemson-Florida State game will be this season. Both schools have identical national title odds and will meet in week 4 at Clemson. There's a very real possibility that the two, because of the division-less format, meet again in the ACC Championship Game.
