The facts you need to know as Clemson gets ready to take on Syracuse and claim their first ACC victory of 2023.
In this story:
Clemson (2-2, 0-2 ACC) and Syracuse (4-0, 0-0 ACC) are both seeking their conference wins of the season. The Orange are coming off of big wins against Purdue and Army, while Clemson is looking to rebound after a heartbreaker against Florida State last week. Here's what you need to know about Syracuse.
- The offense is amongst the best in the nation in many different categories; the most impressive is being ranked 6th in the nation in scoring offense, averaging a little over 44 points a game. The Orange average a little more than 5 touchdowns a game.
- One key component to this offense is Sophomore Running Back LeQuint Allen. He has 311 rushing yards and 6 rushing touchdowns throughout his Sophomore campaign. Syracuse wants to be known as the most physical team and rushing the ball is something that the Orange want to do Saturday.
- The engine is senior quarterback Garrett Sharder, the team's leading rusher, and passer: 6th in the ACC in rushing, 972 passing yards, 316 rushing yards, and 12 total touchdowns. Shrader has been with the team for the past three seasons and he is the unquestioned leader in the locker room. With close results against Clemson the past two seasons, Shrader knows that this is the chance for him to accomplish something special.
- The Orange have kept this matchup close for the past two matchups against the Tigers: the average margin of victory for the Tigers has been 4 points.
