Breaking: Clemson lands 4-star corner Corian Gipson
Clemson landed another big-time recruit as 4-star corner Corian Gipson (TX) announced his commitment to the Tigers on Saturday. Clemson had just one corner committed to the 2024 class, 4-star Tavoy Feagin out of Florida.
The 6-foot corner is outstanding in coverage, effortlessly running routes for receivers, but the main thing that sticks out in his film is his willingness to come up in run support. Gipson often makes tackles at the line and blows up blockers on the edge.
In perhaps the coolest part of a ceremony that featured stories from his families and friends, Gipson announced his decision by Facetiming Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney to let him know he had chosen the Tigers. Swinney could be heard over the speaker. "Corian! It's Clemson isn't it?" said Swinney, followed by a "Let's go!".
"Just blessed to have this opportunity," said Gipson after the commitment at his high school gym. "The stability they have at [Clemson], Coach [Mike] Reed, he's going on his 11th year at Clemson, some colleges can't say that. It's a family vibe there, great people around. The fanbase is great."
Gipson is the No. 13 player in Texas for the class of 2025. Clemson signed 3 of the top 60 players out of Texas in 2023. In 2022, the Tigers landed Cade Klubnik, the No. 1 quarterback in the class, out of Austin.
The commitment in its entirety can be viewed here.
