Colorado coach Deion Sanders condemned the actions of those who issued death threats against Colorado State defensive back Henry Blackburn in the wake of the hit Saturday on Travis Hunter.

"Henry Blackburn is a good player who played a phenomenal game," Sanders said at Tuesday's press conference. "He made a tremendous hit on Travis on the sideline. You could call it dirty, you could call it, He was just playing the game of football. But whatever it was, it does not constitute that he should be receiving death threats."

Blackburn's hit eventually sent Hunter to the hospital with a lacerated liver. The Buffaloes two-way star will miss at least three weeks while he recovers. It comes during the initial part of CU's Pac-12 schedule with top ten back-to-back matchups with Oregon and USC. Colorado beat CSU 43-35 in a double-overtime thriller early Sunday morning.

"It's football at the end of the day," Hunter said Monday on his show 12 Talks.

Sanders showed compassion for Blackburn in this situation. He knows at the end of the day this is just a game and the CSU senior has his life in front of him.

"I don't mind getting death threats," Sanders said. "I get them every week- but a kid, it's not good."

CSU coach Jay Norvell said Fort Collins Police were investigating the multiple threats. He also said the university has no plans on suspending Blackburn for the hit.
