Deion Sanders teases new single with freestyle reference to CU's Fight Song
Deion Sanders seems to be diving into an old endeavor. If releasing a new book, having a signature shoe drop, and dealing with coaching duties wasn't enough, "Prime Time" might be making a return to the studio like he never left.
The Hall-of-Famer put down a couple freestyle verses and teased a new single might be coming soon. It's hard to believe 30 years has passed since Sanders dropped his debut album "Prime Time" to the masses in 1994. The LP had "Must be the Money," which was featured on an episode of NBC's Saturday Night Live that year.
In the latest video by Well Off Media, Sanders was signing copies of "Elevate and Dominate" when he came off the top of his dome with a few lines. Sam Morini, who handles duties as Coach Prime's business manager for SMAC Entertainment, asked if he was "Getting back in the booth?"
Sanders' response was choreographed to a tee. "Yep, I'm back. That's the first verse... Back even though I never left." He went in from that point on for about a minute with some crafty bars that were read off his phone. He even tied the final lyric from CU's Fight Song into his flow. "The weight of my people lay heavy on my shoulders. Come to sip the blueprint and took the family to Boulder"

Bucky enjoyed it and told his father to "talk that talk," while encouraging Morini to hop on a track. A lighthearted moment right before Sanders hits the road for a four-stop book tour. He'll be outside New York City on Wednesday night before heading to Atlanta and Dallas. His final stop will be back at the Macky Auditorium in Boulder on March 18.
