NFL legend throws shade at Shilo Sanders with a "Don't stop believing" message

Big Bad Barry wasn't going to let Buffs defensive back slide at NFL Honors

Shilo Sanders was brimming with confidence while in Las Vegas this week for the Super Bowl festivities. The Colorado defensive back was accompanied by his brothers and father at NFL Honors and stole the show as they entered the Resorts World Theater. But there was one NFL legend who didn't appreciate what Sanders had to say.

Barry Sanders got to meet his extended family prior to the ceremony and everything was going well until Shilo said he was the "Best Sanders ever" with Coach Prime standing next to him. The Hall-of-Famer came back with a great zinger of his own in a moment capture by Well Off Media.

"He's the greatest at something, right?" Sanders asked. Prime quickly responded by saying" (Shilo's) that one." The Detroit Lions great then fired back with words of encouragement for the Buffs safety. "You've got to believe though," Sanders said.

Not hard to believe when you've had an offseason like Shilo Sanders. He recently returned home from participating in the 2024 Louis Vuitton Men's Fall-Winter Collection Show in Paris. It was a once-in-a-lifetime event hosted by Pharrell Williams. Sanders has also spent time up in Colorado's high country on the slopes. The only downside was he had to have surgery on his pinky to correct an injury he suffered last season.

The entire Sanders family enjoyed their time ahead of the big game. They got to do "The Shedeur" with NFL Honors host Keegan-Michael Key and his wife, had a meet and greet with Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank, NFL executives Tim Ellis and Roger Goodell, and put their stamp on Radio Row.

Colorado has one former player in Super Bowl 58. San Francisco 49ers defensive back Isaiah Oliver will try to become the 36th former Buffaloes standout to win a title in NFL history. He's also the 96th participant to make a Super Bowl roster.

The Chiefs and 49ers will battle on Sunday, February 11 (6:30 p.m. ET/TV: CBS). Eight-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist Usher will perform the Apple Music halftime show. He'll be joined on stage by Ludacris and Lil Jon for a star-studded event.
