Duke Basketball: Where Cameron Crazies Stand Among Student Sections
The 2023-24 Cameron Crazies are the first in Duke basketball history to convince the head coach to join them in the bleachers on the other side of Coach K Court from the Blue Devils' bench. They deserved the visit, though, after doing their part to help Jon Scheyer's first team go 16-0 at home.

Scheyer's honorary Cameron Crazie moment came at Countdown to Craziness on Oct. 20, as the 36-year-old answered their "Jon Scheyer, sit with us!" chant late in the Blue-White intrasquad scrimmage, delighting the somewhat surprised students.
And these Crazies will go down in Duke basketball lore as the group that chanted "Cooper Flagg, sit with us!" — that, too, took place at this year's Countdown to Craziness — to help seal a commitment from the five-star phenom.

Consider the Crazies' national popularity, forged by generations of creative diehards in Cameron Indoor Stadium, and the reinvigorated vibes the current crop has exhibited in the young Scheyer era.
In other words, it would have been surprising if NCAA college hoops expert Andy Katz hadn't selected the Cameron Crazies for the top spot on his recently released ranking of the "Top 10 Student Sections" entering the 2023-24 regular season:
Michigan State, Purdue, Kansas State, Kansas, Illinois, Auburn, UConn, Grand Canyon, and San Diego State round out Katz's list.
These Crazies get another tune-up via Wednesday night's home exhibition game against UNC Pembroke. Then, they and the No. 2 Blue Devils will welcome Dartmouth to Durham for the season opener next Monday night before hosting No. 12 Arizona (the return of former UNC guard Caleb Love to Cameron) four days later.
