There's hasn't been much news in the Duke basketball staff's recruitment of Eleanor Roosevelt High School (Calif.) junior guard Brayden Burries since his unofficial visit to Durham in September. But this week, he told On3's Joe Tipton that the Blue Devils are among those he hears from the most.

The other nine Burries named are Alabama, Arizona, Kansas, LSU, Houston, San Diego State, Southern Cal, Texas, and UCLA.

Arizona, Houston, and Southern Cal are the only other programs that have hosted him for an unofficial visit.

Burries, whose sure-footed drives and crisp shooting stroke bring to mind a current Duke basketball freshman guard and former five-star California prep in Jared McCain, ranks No. 15 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite. That's 20 spots higher than when the then-composite four-star landed an offer from the Blue Devils in June.

After watching the 6-foot-5, 200-pound Burries exhibit his refined skillset at the USA Basketball Junior National Team minicamp in October, On3's Jamie Shaw offered the following summary of the now-five-star prospect's game:

"Brayden Burries' game is so solid. He plays balanced with a true skill set. What he lacks in burst, he makes up for with know-how. He has a good pace, a smooth jump shot, and plays off two feet in the paint."

Again, that assessment could just as easily fit Jared McCain.

At one time a candidate to reclassify to 2024, Brayden Burries noted a few months ago that he plans to remain in the 2025 class. While the 17-year-old hasn't set a timetable for his decision, he's mentioned that it could come as soon as May. That said, the fact he's yet to announce any official visits suggests he's in no hurry.

He's one of eight undecided 2025 recruits holding an offer from Duke head coach Jon Scheyer and his crew.
