GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida sophomore wide receiver Caleb Douglas plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal upon its Dec. 4, 2024 winter window opening, according to On3 Sports.

Douglas teased a potential move on Tuesday, posting "Decisions...Decisions...Decisions" on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, X, fewer than 24 hours before his decision to transfer broke.

A product of Missouri City (Texas) Hightower, Douglas, a quarterback-turned-receiver halfway through high school, signed with Florida over LSU, Southern Cal, Notre Dame and other programs at the end of his class of 2022 recruitment.

Emerging quickly in a thin Florida wide receiver room, Douglas appeared in each of the team's final eight games of the 2022 season and made two starts in that stretch, including in the Las Vegas Bowl, which made him an incumbent first-team receiver entering 2023.

However, his campaign was cut short by a lower leg injury suffered during Florida's Week 5 loss at Kentucky. Douglas was originally given a four-to-six-week timetable to return by head coach Billy Napier, but a retaking of the field did not come to fruition before the season ended.

Douglas finishes his two-year UF career with 21 receptions for 308 yards and three touchdowns logged over 13 appearances, including seven starts.

Douglas is the eighth member of Florida's 2023 roster with known plans to transfer this offseason.

Defensive back Jadarrius Perkins entered the transfer portal as a graduate student following Week 2, offensive tackle Jordan Herman unofficially left the team after Week 11, tight end Jonathan Odom and kicker Adam Mihalek revealed their plans to transfer on Sunday, and it was reported that defensive back Kamari Wilson, defensive lineman Will Norman and quarterback Max Brown intend to look elsewhere earlier Wednesday.

This is a breaking news story that will be updated as further details emerge.
