The commitment comes one week after Jackson departed from Florida's recruiting class, on Dec. 2. He had been a member of the haul since July, but became the fourth prospect to exit the group since the beginning of November, each doing so amid the Gators' season-ending five-game losing streak.
Edge rusher Jamonta Waller's flip to Auburn, cornerback Wardell Mack's flip to Texas and defensive lineman Nasir Johnson's flip to Georgia preceded Jackson's flip to Miami.
The No. 44 defensive lineman and No. 406 overall prospect in the class of 2024, per the 247Sports composite rankings, Jackson compiled 104 tackles, 14 sacks, 24 tackles for loss, one forced fumble and four pass breakups during his three-year varsity career in Gainesville, according to MaxPreps.
Florida's haul of defensive line prospects in the class of 2024 consists of Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland's LJ McCray, Hampton (Ga.) Creekside's Michai Boireau and Clinton (N.C.) High's Amaris Williams.
The class of 2024 early signing period will span between Dec. 20-22, 2023. Florida currently possesses 19 total commitments in its 2024 recruiting class.
Notably among the remaining pledges is Jackson's Buchholz teammate, linebacker Myles Graham, the son of former Florida and NFL running back Earnest Graham.
