BREAKING: Florida State Continues To Sit In Top-4 Of Latest College Football Playoff Rankings

The Seminoles remain in the field despite a closer-than-expected win over Pittsburgh.

Florida State continued its undefeated 2023 campaign with a victory over Pittsburgh in Week 10 that didn't earn many style points. The Seminoles trailed 7-0 before scoring 24 consecutive points to walk out of the Steel City with a victory. In the process, the program saw its 14-game 30+ point streak come to an end against the Panthers.

Due to missing the services of two of its top offensive playmakers - Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman - the playoff committee did not negate FSU for the win. On Tuesday night, the latest College Football Playoff Rankings were debuted live on ESPN ahead of Week 11. The Seminoles stayed at No. 4 in the country, meaning if the postseason began today, the team would be in the playoffs.

The top six were made up of No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Michigan, No. 4 Florida State, No. 5 Washington, and No. 6 Oregon. That means the Buckeyes would be matching up with the Seminoles while the Bulldogs and Wolverines would face off to decide who makes the national championship game. The Huskies and Ducks would be the first two teams on the outside of the playoff bubble.

Other notable teams inside the CFP top-25 rankings include No. 19 LSU and No. 11 Louisville. Florida State holds a 45-24 victory over the Tigers, who have now dropped three games in 2023 and are in danger of falling out of the polls. The Cardinals have only been defeated once and could all but clinch a berth in the ACC Championship with a win this weekend.

Outside of their selection in the CFP rankings, Florida State slotted in at No. 4 in the Associated Press poll and Coaches Poll this week. The Seminoles secured their 50th bowl appearance in program history and stamped their ticket to Charlotte for the first time since 2014.

FSU has won 15 consecutive games dating back to last season, the third-longest streak in the nation. The Seminoles have been ranked in the top 5 for ten consecutive weeks and haven't allowed an opponent to score 30 points this year.

Florida State continues its regular season with a rivalry game against the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday afternoon. The Seminoles and Hurricanes kick off at 3:30 p.m. on ABC in Doak Campbell Stadium.
