Florida State Holds Eighth-Best Odds to Win National Championship

The Seminoles will match up with a pair of teams this fall that have better odds to win the national championship at this point in time.

The Florida State Seminoles have clawed their way back to being a premier college football program once again. Or they're on their way, at least.

When Mike Norvell joined the program, he led the Seminoles to a 3-6 record in year one. His second season was more promising as the team finished with a 5-7 record.

The Seminoles were unranked in last year's preseason AP Poll, but finished ranked No. 11. With a 10-3 record and Cheez-It Bowl victory (albeit the final Cheez-It Bowl victory), Florida State seems ready to declare itself as one of the top college football programs once again.

Florida State is getting the respect they demanded last season. According to BetMGM, the Seminoles hold +1800 odds to win the National Championship in the 2023 season, which is good for the eighth-best odds out of any team.

While Norvell has now established his culture and brought in talent both by recruiting and the transfer portal.

To open up their season, the Seminoles get a matchup against LSU, a rematch from a marquee game last season.

At the top, premier powers such as Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio State hold the best odds to win the national championship. Other teams with good odds are LSU and Clemson, who will both match up with Florida State in pursuit of the program's first title since 2013.

The first step for the Seminoles to make a College Football Playoff appearance will be to take care of the ACC conference championship. As of right now, Florida State holds the best odds to win the conference championship (+165) over Clemson (+190).

With plenty of key Seminoles in Jared Verse, Jordan Travis, Jaheim Bell and Johnny Wilson likely heading to the NFL after this season, the squad's best chance to capitalize and make a National Championship push might be this year.
