Where Do The Seminoles Stand With The Four Prospects Committing On July 4?
Florida State landed two commitments to begin the month with four-star defensive end DD Holmes and four-star cornerback Ricky Knight III joining the class. The Seminoles are looking to keep the momentum going with Independence Day right around the corner.

As of now, four prospects that FSU is involved with are scheduled to announce their respective decisions on Tuesday, July 4. The list of recruits expected to make their college commitments includes four-star wide receiver Elijah Moore, four-star wide receiver James Madison II, four-star tight end Kylan Fox, and three-star safety Rydarrius 'Red' Morgan.
Moore is coming off an official visit to Tallahassee at the end of June. Following the trip, he named the Seminoles his leader over Ohio State - the two teams he plans to decide between on Tuesday. Florida State already has four four-star wide receivers committed in its 2024 class but Moore has a different skill set.
He's built a bond with head coach Mike Norvell and wide receivers coach Ron Dugans. The Seminoles appear to be in a very good position.
"Florida State's been on me all four years of my high school career. They were my second offer in eighth grade and they've stuck with me," Moore said after his official visit. "Coach Norvell, I trust him. I trust coach Dugans and it's like a family up there. I trust everybody.
Madison II visited Florida State, Missouri, and Louisville in June but it seems like this one is coming down to the Seminoles and Tigers. Scheduled to announce his decision at 1 p.m. on July 4, the 'Noles were able to get the last impression to conclude June. This one will really come down to if the coaching staff wants to add another commitment at wide receiver along with the expected addition of Moore.
If so, there has to be confidence from the Florida State side due to the long relationship that's been built with Madison II. With that being said, it's worth noting that the Tigers are courting a few of his teammates from St. Thomas Aquinas.
"It was good," Madison II said after his official visit. "It was reassuring about the relationships just to be able to come back and be around the coaching staff again and some commitments so it was nice to be back."
Fox hasn't publicly trimmed down his list but he took official visits to FSU, Georgia Tech, and UCF last month. The Seminoles are interested in adding a second tight end to the class alongside five-star prospect Landen Thomas, who has been recruiting Fox to join him.
"He wants me to come play with him," Fox said in an earlier interview. "We've been growing up playing against each other our childhood. It'd just be good to be on the big stage together."
However, it appears that the Knights have taken charge of this recruitment entering its final 24 hours. Fox will have an easier path to playing time at UCF instead of playing second fiddle to Thomas.
Morgan announced on Sunday that he would be making a decision on July 4. He previously released a top six of Florida State, Auburn, Miami, Cincinnati, Alabama, and Mississippi State. Morgan can play multiple positions at the college level but the Seminoles likely view him as a safety.
The Alabama native was impressed by coach Norvell and defensive coordinator Adam Fuller during his official visit. The Seminoles have the momentum going into his announcement.
"I really liked it. I really liked it," Morgan said about his official visit to Florida State. "Coach Norvell, his energy and everything. I know coach Norvell is doing something big at FSU, and it's something that I'd like to be a part of."
Florida State holds 13 verbal commitments and the No. 16 recruiting class in the country according to 247Sports. Depending on how the month progresses, the Seminoles could work their way into the top ten.
