Florida State Quarterback Jordan Travis Set to Attend 2023 Manning Passing Academy

Travis is set to mentor and compete at the 2023 Manning Passing Academy.

45 quarterbacks are expected to work as camp counselors at the 2023 Manning Passing Academy set to take part later this month from June 22-23 at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. The annual camp hosts players ages ranging from 8th graders to seniors in high school, although according to the camp's website, players who have graduated can also attend due to COVID-19 shutdowns that affected some player's seasons.

The MPA draws quarterbacks from across the country to act as mentors and counselors to take part in film sessions, practices, and lectures for campers. Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis is expected to attend the event.

Travis led the Seminoles to a 10-3 (5-3 ACC) season in 2022 and a Cheez-It Bowl victory over the Oklahoma Sooners marking their first 10-win season since 2016. He has played in 35 games at FSU and has thrown for 5,888 yards and 45 touchdowns adding 1734 on the ground for another 24. He is also projected to become a Heisman candidate in 2023.

One of the highlights of the camp will be their Friday Night Lights competition which takes place on Friday, June 23. The counselors, including Travis, will participate in a skills competition that is designed to gauge accuracy, arm strength, and route-gauging abilities.

From the MPA website about the competition:

Featuring the Riddell Air-It-Out Exhibition, the Nike Quarterback Challenge, and the Cane’s Long Shot, the annual Friday Night Lights competition has emerged as the highlight event of the Manning Passing Academy. Former Saints QB Archie Manning calls all the audibles along with All-Pro Eli Manning, Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning with TV and radio personality Cooper Manning serving as MC. Every year, top quarterbacks and wide receivers from both the college and professional ranks square off in a competition underscoring the skills being taught at “THE PREMIER OFFENSIVE SKILLS FOOTBALL CAMP IN THE NATION.”

The Manning Passing Academy was founded by former NFL quarterback Archie Manning, father of Peyton and Eli Manning and grandfather of Texas Longhorn's quarterback Arch Manning. The event hosts quarterbacks, tight ends, wide receivers, and running backs.
