Florida State's Win Over Clemson Drew One Of The Largest Audiences In The Country In Week 4

Florida State battled back from a double-digit deficit to pull out an overtime victory against Clemson in Death Valley. The Seminoles trailed 10-0 and 17-7 but displayed their resilience to overcome adversity and stay undefeated against a program they hadn't defeated on the road in nearly ten years.

Throughout the opening month of the season, FSU has consistently drawn a large audience of viewers. That continued in the win against the Tigers as the game brought in an average of 6.71 million viewers and a 3.7 rating, per Sports Media Watch. That ranked third in the country behind Oregon-Colorado (10.03 million viewers) and Ohio State-Notre Dame (9,98 million viewers).

The Seminoles dominated the viewership during the noon slate of college football this past week. The next closest game that was televised during the same period was Auburn-Texas A&M which only drew 2.18 million viewers and a 1.2 rating. That game was shown on ESPN while Florida State played on ABC for the third time this season.

North Carolina State-Virginia brought in 1.59 million viewers and a 0.9 rating while being broadcast on ESPN. However, there is a small caveat as this game took place on Friday night, providing more of an open window for a potential national audience.

As far as games that took place on Saturday, Miami-Temple provided a mere 353K viewers and a 0.2 rating on ESPN2. That means the Seminoles brought in an audience that was roughly 19x larger than the one that watched the Hurricanes on television this past weekend.

Florida State's victory over Boston College brought in an average of 3.48 million viewers and a 1.9 rating last week. The Seminoles averaged 9.1 million viewers and peaked at over ten million in the season-opening victory against LSU.

FSU is enjoying a BYE week prior to a three-game homestand that will begin with Virginia Tech on Saturday, October 7.
