Former Florida State Head Coach Holds Top Odds To Be Fired First In 2023
The Florida State Seminoles have been anything but a disappointment after getting off to an 8-0 start with wins over LSU, Clemson, and Duke. The Seminoles haven't been unbeaten this far into a season since 2014 and are looking to continue their success with a win over Pittsburgh this weekend.
With that being, there are plenty of teams around the country that have underperformed this year. However, the seat might not be hotter at any other program other than Texas A&M.

For the second straight season, the Aggies have provided more questions than answers under the guidance of head coach Jimbo Fisher, who is operating under a fully guaranteed $94.95 million contract that runs through 2031. Texas A&M is 5-3 but the program has been out of the top-25 since early in the year and recently lost two consecutive games to Alabama and Tennessee.
That's coming off the heels of a 2022 season where Texas A&M lost six straight games and missed the postseason for the first time in 14 years. The lack of success for the amount of money being shelled out has some in College Station in an uproar.
How much more can the administration at Texas A&M take before being forced to make a move? According to SportsBettingAG, Fisher holds the top odds to be the first college football head coach fired in 2023.
Baylor's Dave Aranda (+500), Houston's Dana Holgorsen (+500), Maryland's Mike Locksley (+600), and Cal's Justin Wilcox (+600) aren't far behind Fisher on the list.
Fisher has compiled a 44-24 overall record with the Aggies. Outside of a 9-1 campaign in a COVID-19-shortened 2020 season, he's finished with at least four losses in every season with the program.
Prior to his time at Texas A&M, Fisher was the head coach at Florida State from 2010-17. He led the Seminoles to 10+ wins in six of his first seven seasons in Tallahassee, including a dominant 14-0 campaign in 2013 where the program won the final BCS National Championship. FSU was victorious in 29 consecutive games spanning from 2013-14 and produced Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston alongside a plethora of NFL Draft picks.
