Former FSU Football Offensive Lineman Earns Promotion At Arizona State
A handful of former Florida State standouts have begun coaching careers over the last couple of years. At least one is already making a quick leap up the ladder.
Kenny Dillingham hired former FSU offensive lineman Devontay Love-Taylor last year as an offensive recruiting special when he took over as the head coach at Arizona State. After one season in his current role, Love-Taylor announced on social media that he has been promoted to the Sun Devils' Director of Scouting.

Love-Taylor has carried his work ethic over from the football field into his new role. He even played a role in recruiting Florida State tight end transfer Markeston Douglas to Tempe back in the winter.
The Florida native began his college playing career at FIU, earning honorable mention all-conference honors in 2019 after helping the Panthers rank sixth nationally in fewest sacks allowed per game. He appeared in 32 games, with 16 starts, before transferring to Florida State.
In his first year in Tallahassee, Love-Taylor displayed his versatility by making four starts at left tackle, two starts at right tackle, and one start at right guard. He was honored with the Don Powell Award as an unsung hero of the team following the season. Love-Taylor returned for his final year in 2021. A team captain, he fought through various injuries to start nine games at right guard and earned honorable mention All-ACC honors in the process.
Love-Taylor chose to pursue his coaching career after briefly participating in a mini-camp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Re-uniting with Dillingham made the most sense after playing under him for two years in Tallahassee. His ties to Florida give him a leg up in the scouting world.
