FSU Football's Jared Verse Believes He Is One of the Best in the 2024 NFL Draft
The 2024 NFL Scouting Combine is in full swing heading into the weekend as former college stars from around the country continue the process of living out their dreams in the NFL.
Among the top prospects in this year's draft is former Florida State defensive end Jared Verse, who is coming off of a monster two seasons with the Seminoles and the projected first-rounder is set to work out in front of NFL scouts on Thursday alongside former teammates Braden Fiske, Kalen DeLoach, Tatum Bethune, and Fabien Lovett, Sr.

There has been a lot of talk about who and when a player will go in the first round and Verse believes that he should be in that conversation.
"I think the best players should be picked first," Verse said to the media during his combine interview. "I don't think there's anything that's wrong with it, so the best player should be picked first...I definitely think I should be considered."
The 6'4'' 254 pound Dayton, Ohio native made an instant impact at FSU after transferring in from Albany. He is coming off of back-to-back nine-sack seasons and his impact was felt in 2023 not only by his stats but by how teams had to prepare for him.
Verse believes that his experience playing multiple positions at Florida State and Albany makes him a valuable asset to NFL teams looking for a versatile defensive lineman.
"I've been using the '3-Tech,' I've been using the 'Four I,' I've been using the five, and whatever you need—on the tight end, off the tight end, you know," Verse said. "They've put me in coverage; I have a lot of experience with every position, whatever you need me to do. So, I think that shows something on film."
Set to work out with the defensive lineman at 3 p.m. ET in Indianapolis on Thursday, Verse acknowledged that there are players at the combine who are faster and stronger than him and looks forward to showcasing his skills.
"There's guys out there faster than me, this guy's out there stronger than me, this guy's out there quicker than me. There are guys out there going to run some freak times. And I just want to show that, through all this, I've worked hard," Verse continued. "I was never supposed to be in this position, but you know, I earned it. So, I'm going to work hard to showcase what I've done."
The 2024 NFL Scouting Combine is set to continue until Monday, March 4.
