FSU Football's Mike Norvell Listed as Heavy Favorite to Replace Alabama's Nick Saban

Norvell leads the odds in potential replacements for the Crimson Tide.

Nick Saban shocked the college football world on Wednesday after announcing his retirement from his 17 years as head coach at Alabama. As multiple fan bases scramble and speculate on who will take over the Crimson Tide dynasty, oddsmakers are capitalizing on the next man in charge in Tuscaloosa.

Former FSU Linebacker Returning Closer To Home In Transfer Portal

Florida State head coach Mike Norvell has emerged as a top contender after Oregon head coach Dan Lanning was reported to have confirmed his commitment to Eugene and the Ducks.

Norvell made a huge leap from +1000 to +150 on the popular betting website BetOnline, surpassing Texas' Steve Sarkisian and Ole Miss' Lane Kiffin.

Norvell is coming off a successful 13-1 campaign and ACC Championship win. He was recently named the Bear Bryant Coach of the Year and is an attractive option with a relatively low contract buyout.

While the stock of Florida State's head coach is quickly climbing, other candidates continue to emerge for one of the nation's premier coaching positions. Washington's Kalen DeBoer is listed as the No. 1 potential replacement at -110, and Clemson's Dabo Swinney currently sits at +2500.

Norvell and the Seminoles currently have the No. 7 recruiting class and the No. 6 transfer class heading into 2024, and a head coaching move could prove devastating for Florida State.

The odds continue to change as the situation develops and can be found here.
