FSU Football's Top Three Most Exciting Home Games for the 2024 Season

Get ready for another jam-packed Doak Campbell Stadium in 2024.

The Florida State Seminoles are geared up and preparing for the 2024 season after going 13-1 last year and winning the ACC. Head coach Mike Norvell has reloaded through recruiting and the transfer portal with the No. 3 transfer class and No. 7 recruiting class that includes multiple top-tier players from across the country.

Florida State's football schedule was released on Wednesday, including big games at home and on the road.

BREAKING: FSU Football's Full 2024 Schedule Announced

With the season opener set for August 24th against Georgia Tech in Dublin, Ireland, at Aviva Stadium and a follow-up at home against Boston College, the season is starting to shape up for the 'Noles, who are vying for another championship. Here is a list, in no particular order, of what could be the most exciting home matchups for the 2024 season.

Florida Gators

This list wouldn't be right without including one of the best rivalries in college football history. Last season, it was a backup quarterback against a backup quarterback as the Seminoles traveled to Gainesville, FL, and defeated the Gators 24-15. This year, the 'Noles will host their rival at home in what should and always will be a "records out the window" slugfest.

The game is set to take place Saturday, November 30, and it will be interesting to see how both team's quarterback rooms develop throughout the season. With FSU adding transfer DJ Uiagalelei from Oregon State and Florida returning a presumably healthy Graham Mertz, alongside all the offseason drama, Seminole fans will be champing at the bit to see these two teams face off.

Clemson Tigers

The Clemson Tigers and Florida State have been at each other's throats since FSU joined the ACC in the 90's. Another dynamic that gives this game a bigger edge is that Uiagalelei played for Clemson for two seasons before transferring to Oregon State and then to FSU. Last year, FSU went to Death Valley and beat the Tigers in overtime, breaking a seven-game losing streak, 31-24.

Clemson is coming off a remarkable quarterback run fielding players like Trevor Lawrence, Tajh Boyd, and Deshaun Watson but seemed to have hit a slouch under current quarterback Cade Klubnik. Granted, the Tigers have boasted a dominant front seven on both sides of the ball, but the transfers and remaining talent on both teams will make for an entertaining game come October 5.

North Carolina Tar Heels

This was a toss-up between UNC and Memphis, and the margin was very close. On the one hand, Norvell playing Memphis at home against his former university and former offensive coordinator Ryan Silverfield will be a must-see. On the other hand, when FSU has gone against the Tar Heels, it always leads to a great game. The last time the two programs went head to head was in 2021, and Florida State came out on top 35-25.

Texas A&M transfer quarterback Max Johnson has been added to the Carolina roster to compete for the starting job against redshirt freshman Conner Harrell. Whoever replaces Drake Maye at quarterback is up in the air, but North Carolina always seems to field a decent team under head coach Mack Brown. Can UNC handle the explosive run game with Lawrance Toafili, Roydell Williams, and Caziah Holmes? Time will tell. You won't have to convince FSU fans to leave their houses for this one on November 2.
