The Seminoles haven't defeated Clemson in nine years and it's been an entire decade since they took down the Tigers in Death Valley. Florida State is hoping to keep the past in the past when the team travels to South Carolina for its second ACC matchup of the season next weekend.

That could be even tougher for FSU after being somewhat exposed against Boston College. The Seminoles struggled to run the ball and weren't much better through the air. To make matters worse, quarterback Jordan Travis played through a non-throwing arm injury and was spotted with a sling on following the contest.

On Sunday afternoon, opening odds were released for Week 4 games around college football. According to Circa Sports, Florida State and Clemson is a pick’em game. The Over/Under is set at 52.5 points, predicting a toss up between the Seminoles and Tigers.

The Seminoles held a lead in the fourth quarter in Death Valley in 2021 after Jermaine Johnson returned a fumble for a touchdown with 7:39 remaining. However, the Tigers would punch in the go-ahead score with just under two minutes to play.

Last season was even more frustrating as Clemson built up a 34-14 lead after dominating the 'middle eight'. The Tigers scored 20 points between the 1:51 mark of the second quarter and the 7:32 mark of the third quarter which equates to 9:19 of game time. The Seminoles ultimately closed the gap to 34-28 but Dabo Swinney's team was able to run out the clock.

Florida State and Clemson will kick off at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23. The game will be televised on ABC.
