On Tuesday, the Baltimore Ravens brought in former Florida State cornerback Levonta Taylor and a host of other players for a workout, according to KPRC2's Aaron Wilson. The Ravens have 11 cornerbacks under contract but a few members of the group are dealing with injuries, including Trayvon Mullen and Rock Ya-Sin.
Taylor is coming off a successful stint in the USFL where he recorded 39 total tackles for the Michigan Panthers. He totaled a season-high eight tackles in a loss to New Orleans on June 4. Taylor was one of the top cornerbacks in the league despite playing through multiple injuries.
The Virginia native has suited up in four separate professional leagues since going undrafted in 2020. That includes the NFL's Los Angeles Rams (2020), TSL's Sea Lions (2021), CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders (2022), and USFL's Michigan Panthers (2023).
The former five-star recruit spent his college career at Florida State after signing with the program as the No. 1 cornerback in the 2016 class. He split his time playing under former head coaches Jimbo Fisher and Willie Taggart. Taylor appeared in 44 games, with 26 starts, totaling 90 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, ten pass breakups, and four interceptions.
Taylor is tied for fourth in program history with two pick-sixes. One came against Florida in Gainesville in a rivalry victory in 2017. Taylor recorded a career-high seven tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, and one pass deflection in a 35-24 victory against Louisville in 2019.
