Former FSU Football Defensive Lineman Wins Third Super Bowl With The Kansas City Chiefs

The former Seminole was unable to participate but still is eligible for his third ring.

Former Florida State football defensive lineman Derrick Nnadi has won his third Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs. They triumphed over the San Francisco 49ers in overtime by a score of 25-22.

Nnadi did not play as he was listed on the injured reserve (triceps). However, throughout 17 games in the 2023 season, the defensive lineman recorded 30 total tackles, one sack, and one tackle for loss. He was drafted by the Chiefs in the third round in 2018.

In Super Bowl LIV (2019 season), the former FSU standout accounted for four combined tackles, three solo tackles, and one tackle for loss. The Chiefs defeated the 49ers by a score of 31-20.

In Super Bowl LV (2020 season), Nnadi combined for five tackles including one solo tackle and four assisted tackles. The Buccaneers crushed the injury-ridden Chiefs 31-9.

In last year’s big game (Super Bowl LVII), Nnadi played in 27% of the defensive snaps and 17% of the special teams snaps. The Chiefs won 38-35 over the Eagles.

Nnadi is now tied with J.T. Thomas for the most Super Bowl appearances among all Seminoles.
