WATCH: Former FSU Wide Receiver Catches Deep Ball From Chargers Star Justin Herbert

The former Seminole turned undrafted rookie is doing his part to stick in Los Angeles.

A pair of former Florida State standouts are taking the more challenging route to stick at the professional level after safety Jammie Robinson was the only Seminole selected in the 2023 NFL Draft. That means wide receiver Ontaria Wilson and tight end Camren McDonald are trying to hold on as undrafted free agents.

To his credit, Wilson is doing his part to stick with the Los Angeles Chargers. He's flashed at times during the team's OTAs and is already developing chemistry with star quarterback Justin Herbert.

On Wednesday, the former Seminole was at the end of a throw from Herbert that went for a 50-yard touchdown. The play caught the eye of some of the media members in attendance for the workout as Wilson easily pulled away from the defensive back that was in coverage.

The Georgia native is trying to crack a roster that includes two of the most well-known wide receivers in the NFL - Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. Wilson is one of four Seminoles currently on the Chargers alongside All-Pro safety Derwin James, promising cornerback Asante Samuel Jr, and kicker Dustin Hopkins.

Wilson came through Tallahassee during the most tumultuous time in program history. He played for three different head coaches throughout his career but stuck with Florida State. He led the team in receiving in 2020 and 2021 prior to recording a career-high 495 yards last season.

The 6-foot, 183-pound wide receiver tied his career-high with seven catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns in a one-point victory against LSU in New Orleans. He appeared in 51 games, with 36 starts, and caught 108 passes for 1,521 yards and 12 touchdowns through the air while rushing seven times for 57 yards and another score on the ground with the Seminoles.

Other former Seminoles such as defensive tackle Robert Cooper (Seahawks), offensive lineman Dillan Gibbons (Colts, Jaguars), offensive lineman Jazston Turnetine (Jaguars), and tight end Wyatt Rector (Raiders) previously earned opportunities. None were retained by their respective teams and are still looking for landing spots.
