According to a live announcement on Instagram, four-star wide receiver Elijah Moore has committed to the Seminoles over Ohio State. FSU had been jockeying with the Buckeyes for his pledge over the last couple of weeks.

This is a big victory for Florida State over a prominent power like Ohio State that has sent multiple wide receivers to the professional ranks under the tutelage of Brian Hartline.

However, in the end, deep relationships with Seminole head coach Mike Norvell and wide receivers coach Ron Dugans were paramount in Moore's decision to play his college career in Tallahassee.

"Florida State's been on me all four years of my high school career. They were my second offer in eighth grade and they've stuck with me," Moore said to NoleGameday previously. "Coach Norvell, I trust him. I trust coach Dugans and it's like a family up there. I trust everybody.

Moore has the potential to develop into something special at the college level. He's already a playmaker at the high school ranks, especially around the red zone. His blend of size, ball skills, and athleticism makes him a tough cover for opposing defensive backs.

The Maryland native is a physical player. After all, the second clip on his highlight type is Moore barreling down on kickoff coverage to lay a hit on a returner. That certainly fits the mantra of what the Seminoles are looking for in a variety of ways. Moore will be asked to block on offense and his versatility on special teams is a bonus for a coaching staff that values that side of the football in a big way.

His footwork is extremely promising as well. Moore already has an array of moves and hesitations at the line of scrimmage that allow him to make separation. His control and balance for his size are attributes worth noting that will benefit him at the college level.

"It's all about worth ethic and wanting to be successful," Moore said. "If you work, you're going to be successful. I feel like, if they want to give me the ball, they're going to give me the ball. If we want to win championships, we're going to win championships."

With his pledge, Florida State's class moves from No. 16 to No. 14 in the country with 14 verbal commitments. He is the fifth wide receiver to enter the fold, joining four other blue-chip prospects; Camdon Frier, BJ Gibson, Lawayne McCoy, and TJ Abrams.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound wide receiver is regarded as the No. 432 overall prospect, the No. 64 WR, and the No. 11 recruit in the state of Maryland in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.
