Five-Star Wide Receiver Lists Florida State in Top Eight

FSU continues to make an impact on the talented prospect out of Alabama.

The recruiting dead period is barreling around the corner, starting on June 27 and heading into the end of July. Scrambling wouldn't be a word to use for the Florida State Seminoles as they've been hot on the trail, bringing in top-tier prospects from across the country on campus to see what head coach Mike Norvell and his staff have been building in Tallahassee.

To end the month, FSU plans to have another major crop of official visitors this weekend to follow up on its efforts to end strong as they head into the dog days of summer.

Recently, the 'Noles hosted an invite-only "Elite Camp" that featured rising stars like four-star quarterback Luke Kromenhoek and four-star running back Kam Davis along with many others to experience being on the field inside Doak Campbell Stadium and get a closer look at the program as a whole.

Along with Kromenhoek and Davis, was five-star Phenix City, Alabama native Cameron Coleman, who is heading into his senior season at Central High School. He recently listed Florida State in his top eight schools. The other programs that made the cut included Clemson, Kentucky, Florida, LSU, Texas A&M, Auburn, and Georgia.

"This visit was different," Coleman told NoleGameday's Tommy Mire.

"The way that they really invest time in their players in the meeting room, helping them with the small details and paying attention to where you line up and stuff, really just the small details," Coleman set on what makes FSU different.

Coleman, a six-foot-three, 180-pound wideout had 31 receptions for 542 yards and six touchdowns during his junior year. He is the fifth-ranked receiver in the 2024 class and the 17th player nationally.

Coming off official visits to Auburn, and Texas A&M, he currently holds offers from powerhouses like Florida State, LSU, Clemson, Alabama, Georgia and Michigan. He is expected to return to Tallahassee for a game this upcoming season.
