Seminole QB Pledge Tramell Jones Jr. Stepping Into Major Recruiting Role For #Tribe25

Jones Jr. is ready to do his part to build up Florida State's 2025 class.

Florida State's campus was filled with talent throughout the weekend as top prospects flocked to Tallahassee to compete at the Elite Camp. The experience allowed the coaching staff to build relationships with recruits and their families while also showcasing their abilities inside Doak Campbell Stadium.

It was a little sweeter for three-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. as the last time he threw in Doak he picked up an offer from the Seminoles. After committing to the program in April, Jones Jr. wanted to show the staff how much he's improved.

"Good just for them to see how I improved, how they coaching me up. It's great to see how hard they're pushing me," Jones Jr. said to NoleGameday's Dustin Lewis after the workout. "Focusing on the little details, just picking up the little things to get me better. High school and then when I get to college it'll come easy."

Quarterbacks coach Tony Tokarz focused on a couple of different aspects throughout the Elite Camp. Tokarz mainly harped on the fundamentals.

"Footwork placement, especially like RPO game," Jones Jr. said. "Just having those little things like my hip pointed to the target when I'm throwing. Not being off-balanced when I'm flipping my hips, making the throw, things like that."

The Florida native enjoyed getting back around head coach Mike Norvell. The message this time was pretty simple - bring everything you've got every day.

"He just talked about how I can be the best. Putting my everything every day," Jones Jr. said. "You know, there's going to be some off days where I'm going to hate him. That's what I've got to get through to be the best. That's pretty much what he touched on the whole time during our meeting but just to build that relationship once again it's just great."

Jones Jr. wasn't the only signal-caller committed to Florida State that was throwing at the Elite Camp. Rising senior and four-star pledge Luke Kromenhoek also slung the ball around. The two have developed into great competitors and great friends.

"We're just having great competition. We're great friends, great relationship," Jones Jr. said. "We're always just going back and forth. He throws a great ball, I throw a great ball. Always going back and forth. That's something great to have, especially in the QB room."

After committing to the Seminoles two months ago, Jones Jr. is looking to step into a major recruiting role for #Tribe25. He's already focusing in on his high school teammate, five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench. The duo have established chemistry at the prep level and that carried over into the Elite Camp.

"Just like I said earlier, if you want to be coached by the best, he sees the relationship he has here, he's definitely wanted. I feel like this is the place for him - what he wants, his playing style, it's just perfect here," Jones Jr. said.

The Seminoles are beginning to gain traction with some of the top recruits in the 2025 class. Jones Jr. is doing his part to build the group from the ground up.

"I've been heavy, especially on linemen. Alvin Henderson, running back, he's heavy on us. Especially Jaime Ffrench, Koby Howard, Solomon Thomas. Solomon, Jaime, they're both from the Jacksonville area. Raines High School, Mandarin, so they're pretty close to me so I've been doing a lot so far," Jones Jr. said. "Then you see that the No. 1 tight end 2025 [Elyiss Williams] here also, big target, big guy, love to have him, he needs to become a Nole. And you have Georgia commit linebacker [Jadon Perlotte] here. Definitely a key to this class so I'd love to have him too."

With his junior season on the horizon, there are a couple of things he's focused on as he prepares to lead Mandarin High School. That includes improving his footwork in the pocket and being a better leader for his teammates.

"Just becoming a leader, showing my natural leadership," Jones Jr. said. "Also coach Norvell touched on becoming a natural leader and coach Tokarz touched on it during the quarterback meeting. That's something I'm able to do."

Jones Jr. is planning to return to Florida State in July and for a game in the fall. He isn't planning to visit other schools at this time. Jones Jr. says that programs such as Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Louisville, and Virginia Tech have stayed in contact with him since his pledge to the Seminoles.

The 6-foot, 185-pound quarterback is regarded as the No. 367 overall prospect, the No. 27 QB, and the No. 52 recruit in the state of Florida in the 2025 class according to 247Sports.
