Three-Star OL Tye Hylton Notices The 'Brotherhood' At Florida State During Official Visit
Florida State has yet to net a commitment upfront in #Tribe24 but the Seminoles are beginning to gain traction with a couple of prospects. Three-star offensive lineman Tye Hylton has been a consistent face in Tallahassee since picking up an offer from the coaching staff in January.
Hylton was on campus for his fourth visit this year to take part in his official visit to FSU. He came away impressed with the trip.
"It was great, I can't lie," Hylton said to NoleGameday's Dustin Lewis. "I had like a really good time with coach Norvell and the whole staff."

Offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins believes that Hylton is the type of player that the Seminoles are looking for on and off the field. Atkins is projecting him as a tackle that can also contribute at center at the next level.
"He said that he coached plenty of guys like me that came in small and then grew up big," Hylton said. "Athletic big men and then he turns them into good offensive linemen so that's his plan for me."
Outside of Atkins, Hylton has built strong bonds with the entirety of Florida State's offensive line staff. Senior offensive analyst Gabe Fertitta and graduate assistant Cooper Williams were attached at his hip all weekend.
"It's great. I'm building a relationship with them from now," Hylton said. "Me and coach Coop and Fertitta, we're all close with them, even with my family, we're all close. Building that relationship early on is good for my development."
The Florida native had a good experience at Florida State but the most impactful part was noticing the brotherhood around the program. He was impressed by how connected everyone is from top to bottom.
"It's really like the brotherhood. Everybody here is tight, close," Hylton said. "I really like that, me personally, because of my development and stuff like that. The older guys helping out."
Hylton's player host was redshirt junior center, Maurice Smith. The veteran once again told him about the brotherhood and how hard he will be pushed if he chooses the Seminoles.
"That it's really like a brotherhood here. I can see that too," Hylton said. "The coaches are going to push you on and off the field and I'm 100% ok with that. I'm comfortable with being uncomfortable."
Joined by his family, Hylton's mother loved the official visit.
"The fact that she knows that somebody is going to be there for her kid when times get tough or times get good," Hylton said. "For her, it's like a home away from home thing. She wants to know who I'm going to be dealing with when she's not here, make sure I'm in the right hands."
Prior to departing from campus on Sunday, he sat down with head coach Mike Norvell for a meeting. Similar to Atkins, Norvell told him about how good of a fit he is in Tallahassee.
"He stressed to me and my family that I'm a great fit for the program," Hylton said. "Really just overall that I'm a great person as well."
Hylton is going to think about his decision in July and 'hopefully' come up with a school. At the latest, he wants to commit by the third week of his senior season.
The Seminoles are jockeying with Florida, Miami, Penn State, and UCF for his commitment.
The 6-foot-4, 285-pound offensive lineman is regarded as the No. 903 overall prospect, the No. 72 OT, and the No. 123 recruit in the state of Florida in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.
