Two Recruits With Offers From Florida State Commit To Florida
Florida State has put a strong focus on retaining talent across the southeast. That's paid off as all 11 of the Seminoles' verbal commitments in #Tribe24 hail from Florida or Georgia. Naturally, that has the program competing with the Gators, Bulldogs, and Hurricanes for a fair share of recruits.

The Seminoles can't win every battle on the trail and sometimes decisions go the other way due to a variety of factors. Over the weekend, two prospects with offers and interest from FSU committed to the Gators while on official visits to Gainesville.
Four-star defensive tackle Nasir Johnson and four-star tight end Amir Jackson were both on Florida State's recruiting board. Johnson was even scheduled to officially visit the Seminoles next week but it's unclear if that trip will still take place after committing elsewhere.
Johnson was one of FSU's top options on the interior after joining his recruitment in January. Head coach Mike Norvell personally offered the trending defensive lineman, who is athletic enough to do a backflip at 6-foot-4, 300-pounds.
With Johnson moving on to the Gators, the Seminoles turn to a board that includes four-star Kamarion Franklin, four-star Artavius Jones, and three-star Alex January. The program also has three-star prospect Jamorie Flagg already committed in the class.
Jackson picked up an offer from the Seminoles in February and was on campus for the Spring Showcase on April 15. A dynamic and emerging athlete, tight ends coach Chris Thomsen was one of the members of the staff involved in his recruitment.
Despite Jackson committing to Florida, the situation is more clear for Florida State at tight end after five-star tight end Landen Thomas flipped to the Seminoles from Georgia in April. He's remained steadfast in his decision and is recruiting another top prospect
Thomas will be on campus next weekend for an official visit alongside four-star tight end Kylan Fox. FSU has seemingly circled in on Fox as Thomas' running mate in the 2024 class. It remains to be seen if he chooses the Seminoles with a decision expected later this month or in July.
Florida State holds 11 commitments in its 2024 class which ranks No. 17 in the country according to 247Sports.
