Brock Bowers and Amarius Mims Not on Team Plane to Orange Bowl
The Georgia Bulldogs 2023 season will come to a close this Saturday when the Bulldogs take on the undefeated Florida State Seminoles in the iconic Orange Bowl Game. This will be the first meeting between the two teams in more than 20 years and the Bulldogs' first appearance in the Orange Bowl since their 2021 thrashing of the Michigan Wolverines.
With the Orange Bowl not having any College Football Playoff or national championship ramifications, many players have expectedly begun to announce that they will be opting out of the game. Although Brock Bowers and Amarius Mims have not made an official announcement as to whether or not they are playing, reports indicate that they did not travel with the team to Miami.
Both Bowers and Mims have been tabbed by many experts to be first-round locks for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft and have both already recieved surgeries this season to repair ankle injuries. Given their high draft expectancy and recent history with injuries, it should come as no surprise that the highly talented Bulldogs will likely not be playing in Saturday's contest.
