Rookie Recap: Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean

The Philadelphia Eagles fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII, ending the rookie campaigns for Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean in a tough way.

The rookie seasons of Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean came to an end in heartbreaking fashion, as the Philadelphia Eagles fell to the Kansas City Chiefs 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII.

Davis and Dean, both members of Georgia’s historic 2021 defense, saw the field in mostly back-up roles during the Eagles’ 14-3 regular season, but made plays along the way.

The Eagles selected Jordan Davis with the 13th pick in the NFL Draft. Playing behind a strong group of veteran defensive lineman, Davis tallied 18 tackles on the year, including 3.5 run stuffs. He didn’t make a tackle during the Super Bowl, but Davis did log a hit on Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

For Nakobe Dean, a third round pick, most of the season was spent on special teams. Dean logged 15 tackles on the season, mostly on punt coverage. He did see a good amount of action at inside linebacker, registering a couple of run stuffs.

It wasn’t the way either of the former All-Americans would’ve wanted to end their rookie campaigns, but it was back-to-back seasons of playing for a championship. The future certainly looks bright for both former Dawgs.
